    Job Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate project space flight electronic parts requirements and develop a plan jointly with the Parts Project Engineers (PPE) in fulfilling these requirements
    • Interfaces with vendors, Assembly/Fabrication, and designers to resolve complex lead time, part quality, and other engineering issues
    • Identify part availability by searching existing inventory of electronics parts, and initiate procurement cycle for parts shortage
    • Ensure parts meet the technical screening requirements as defined by the Part Specialist or Radiation Specialist and process upscreen tests
    • Track and maintain project parts lists, procurement/kitting status in the Parts Acquisition and Review Database
    • Use Oracle Bill of Material (BOM), Work-in-Process (WIP), and Inventory modules
    • Generate issuance of electronic part kits to Manufacturing
    • Disposition Quality Inspection Reports
    • Evaluate discrepancies (failure, anomaly, test deviation, etc.) to determine the necessary steps to close out the issue
    • Report status of procurement, testing and Inspection Reports (IR) closure to line and project management, along with risk analysis, as required
    • Work with the Project Parts Engineers, Part Specialists, Radiation Specialists, CogE and part manufacturers to resolve technical issues that impact delivery schedules
    • Represent Section 514 at manufacturing meetings and provide input based on understanding of risk areas due to technical or delivery issue

    Job Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline with typically a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or Masters degree in similar discipline with a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
    • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: component engineering; Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system
    • Understanding and application of standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques in electronic parts
    • Ability to read schematics and understand technical project component requirements
    • Knowledge of electronic part families and their identification
    • Working knowledge of part data sheets and common package types for part recommendations and selection
    • Ability to effectively interface with design engineers and parts specialists in the selection of space level electronic components
    • Excellent computer skills (use of a complex-integrated database and MS Office tools), organizational skills, documentation skills, and oral and written communication
    • Must be detail oriented
