    Job Description:

    The Level 1 DFT supports the technical aspects of the Level 1 ingestion offering as well as the review capabilities Remote Search & Review system. The role is to assure the delivery of technical functionality of the KTE (kiosk/tablet/express) hardware, software and techniques. With over 100 KTE terminals deployed across the MPS the support for this technology is crucial to support Digital Forensic investigations.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Delivering the technical aspects of the Level 1 ingestion offering (KTE equipment) that will be connected to the Remote Search & Review system
    • Provide advice and guidance to officers and staff of the Level 1 ingestion offering (KTE equipment) that will be connected to the Remote Search & Review system
    • Development and support (including validation and testing) of KTE equipment working with external providers
    • Deliver and develop training of KTE equipment to officers and staff
    • Carrying out technical fixes/networking and support creation of workflows on KTE equipment
    • Support the deployment and delivery of KTE equipment across the MPS working closely with the external provider’s onsite engineer
    • Support the development of in-house solutions used within the department, currently these include SharePoint and systems for the management of training records, a test device library, a device specifications database, and a mobile network database

    Job Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Document systems, technologies and processes utilised within the team and user manuals as appropriate
    • Become familiar with financial, HR, case management, and other key MPS systems
    • Understanding forensic processes, handling of exhibits and case files
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of information technology and digital forensics skills
    • Work collaboratively with DMIs (Digital Media Investigators), Digital Devices and Digital Forensic Hub staff and partners
    • Understand and accept the core principles set out in the H&S Policy in relation to your role, duties and responsibilities and implement those principles and requirements in day-to-day activities
    • Expected to work within the Forensic Service Quality Management System and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the system by participating in quality assurance activities, engaging in internal and external audits, competence and proficiency tests, reporting non-conformances and proposing changes to improve the system.
