    Job Responsibilities:

    • Travel up to 5% domestically and internationally
    • Secure Ford intellectual property for processing methods, tooling or algorithms
    • Provide training courses for battery processing
    • Provide guidance to purchasing for outsourced components/assemblies, related to battery manufacturing process and testing procedures
    • Develop new processing methods to improve cost
    • Lead implementation of battery electrode manufacturing quality control strategies
    • Provide structure to support Ford Ion Park competitive strategy
    • Determine battery electrode manufacturing processes
    • Lead sophisticated manufacturing projects for battery electrode manufacturing
    • Review Battery quality indicators (e.g. electrode quality, Formation test, Warranty, etc.) and evaluate potential enhancements to address issue
    • Work with product engineering on engineering specifications (ES) for battery electrode raw materials and processing
    • Coordinate efforts regarding pass through characteristics and quality metrics with larger multi-functional team
    • Update and maintain bill of process (BOP) and methods documents for Battery manufacturing and test processes

    Job Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Experience in the following areas is beneficial: Roll-to-Roll Processes, Dry Powder Mixing and Handling Processes
    • 10+ years of experience in battery coating and related technologies
    • Solid understanding of electrode raw materials and electrode coating processes
    • Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or Metallurgy
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated leadership in successful new product launch teams
    • Outstanding knowledge of battery coating process equipment technology, statistical methods, and problem solving
    • 5+ years working in a manufacturing environment
    • Technical knowledge of battery electrode components and their interactions
    • Demonstrated leadership in executing and implementing sophisticated projects
