    Job Description:

    • Fill an advanced-level Utilities engineering position in support of manufacturing sites and developing capital projects for ExxonMobil’s Technology and Engineering Company
    • Provide a leadership role in the reliability and optimization of Utilities systems for new or modified manufacturing facilities across the company

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Lead and assist a design team in the development of utilities design specifications
    • Participate in Hazard and Operability Reviews (HAZOP) for new or modified facilities and support of existing plant facilities HAZOP reviews
    • Provide troubleshooting support (remote and/or in person) of offsites / utilities systems to manufacturing assets (upstream / downstream / chemical)
    • Mentors junior site engineering staff, guides development of expertise in Utilities
    • Determine financial incentives of improvements / projects and communicate effectively to management
    • Interpret unit monitoring trends and offer operational recommendations based on them
    • Occasional domestic or international assignments may be required
    • Understand and quantify risks associated with offsites / utilities systems and equipment
    • Provide technical stewardship of engineering contractor’s work during front end engineering and design (FEED) or detailed engineering to ensure consistency with ExxonMobil methods and guidelines, project specifications and owner’s requirements.
    • Offer Technical guidance to operations organization on transient operation of utilities / offsites systems during unit upsets, weather-related incidents, etc.
    • Assist, monitor, and mentor less experienced engineers in the development of specifications, including the development of utility systems and balances (e.g. steam generation / distribution systems, water supply / treating, fuel systems, compressed air / nitrogen systems, cooling water system, safety systems, power generation, overall utility master planning)
    • Provide commissioning and start-up assistance for new or modified facilities, as required
    • Lead and/or perform optimization studies to identify or evaluate capital or operating cost savings, energy assessments, configuration alternatives, safety facilities requirements, GHG reduction opportunities, etc

    Job Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Ability to deliver high quality design and project development deliverables within schedule and on budget
    • Ability to lead and motivate teams as well as possess strong technical skills to provide guidance to more junior team members
    • Develops Utilities expertise through guidance of junior team members
    • Effective interface management skills to help incorporate input from various technical specialties into design deliverables. This may include interfacing with management, operations personnel and various technical specialists
